For twenty years I was the lead teacher and counselor for our institutions' youth programs and international workshops and retreats. Drawing on my training and experience as a metaphysical counselor, I applied these same listening and guidance methods to the special needs of youth from ages 11 to 20. Because I had come into the monastic life so early—yet having grown up through the 70's—I was able to quickly build a bridge of rapport and understanding with even very troubled teens.

I've had several thousand hours of experience with youth, advising in the full range of conditions and issues from suicidal and morbid thinking to relationships, school and career pressures, peer pressure, ennui, self-identity crisis—to spiritual aspirations of actually having a psychic, intuitive experience. In Mauritius I set up the first youth hot line for call ins.

In working with pre-teens and teens a full range of methods is gently used: health, diet, daily activities, spiritual psychology, yoga, meditation, chanting, service, philosophy, psychic development, introspection.
